Conference interpreting
JECY offers several different types of interpreting:
Simultaneous interpreting is perfect for conferences. Professionals often choose it, because there is no limit on the number of participants and the proceedings can continue uninterrupted. The interpreter is in booth usually at the back of the room or on a balcony in the auditorium.
The public hears the translation as the person talking delivers his or her speech through headphones.
Simultaneous interpreters swap over every twenty minutes on average and work in twos or threes depending on the requirements of the event.
Consecutive interpreting requires the translator to reproduce the speaker’s talk; this is fine for mini conferences but not used for larger events.
Liaison interpreting means that the interpreter translates what several people are saying or more foreign languages as the person talks. This method is often used for business negotiations or factory visits for example.
Whispered Interpreting is whispering the translation to the listener sitting next to the interpreter. This technique is used if only one or two people in the public need a translation.

to take care of the technical side.
But if you do deal with the technical aspect yourself,
but you would like us to help, we can act as advisor
and point you in the direction of local experts.
We can advise you on the choice of booth according to your needs and the lay out of the venue, and where to place the equipment in the room, and the number and type of microphones needed…
